We had a wonderful home birth and everything went great! Crist was actually born in his nursery room here at the house in a small pool of water. We had a midwife and 2 other attendants help birth our new baby boy.
Koryn's water broke at 10:05pm on Friday night and contractions started 45 minutes later. She did not get any sleep Friday night as the contractions were close enough to keep her up all night. Marvy (our midwife) arrived at about 2:45am, checked Koryn, and we found out we had quite a ways to go still. We all tried to get some sleep, but contractions came hot and heavy around 4:00am. She started active labor at about 6:00am and had a very long day until he arrived at 6:27pm.
That's all for now. Please leave comments for us.

Crist,
Welcome to this amazing world God created. And, you do have amazing parents to give you a home birthing! May you truly be amazed as what God has in store for you and your parents instruct you in the ways of the Lord.

He came out with some dark colored hair, but it will likely fall out soon. It is brownish-black.

You guys are amazing! I am so happy for you both. He is absolutely gorgeous, but there was no doubt about that one~ I can't wait to hold him!
I am so amazed she had a water birth! That is so fabulous!!!! Congrats, Buddy! It's fun to check up on old Cedar Valley people and see where they are now via facebook/myspace.
Koryn, you give me courage! I'd love to do a VBAC after 2 c-sections someday and seeing a drug-free home birth is so rare and cool! I've just ordered the business of being born via netflix and am interested to watch it.
Is it me or does Crist look just like Buddy?
Congrats again! Enjoy these little days - they pass WAY too quickly.
